COVID has changed a lot of things for weddings. Safety is in the forefront of a lot of people’s minds when planning weddings during this time. With relatives having to travel from far away and large numbers of guests wanting to be a part of these celebrations, we have seen a lot of our couple’s completely change their plans. With these changes, we have seen a lot of meaningful, intimate moments come from these new ways of celebrating including this intimate wedding in Uptown Charlotte. Claire and Nathan had such a unique wedding journey through this time and it was one of the sweetest moments to be a part of.
They elected to keep their original 2020 date by having a small wedding on their families’ property with just their immediate family members but planned to have a larger celebration on their year anniversary. With a lot of unknown still in 2021, they decided to cancel the bigger celebration. Because they didn’t get the chance to take photos during their wedding, we thought it would be amazing to meet up at their original venue to capture photos. It also gave them the perfect reason to get dressed up in their wedding dress and suit that they still hadn’t gotten to see each other in. Their immediate family members got to be a part of it as well which made it so special.
They rented a lake house to share for the weekend with their families. We met them in Uptown Charlotte to do a first look complete with letters from each other. They turned to see each other and it was perfect. We grabbed photos of just the two of them and with their families before heading to Founder’s Hall.
We finished our session there before walking back to where we started. It was the best way to celebrate their anniversary!
